The graduate student conference provides a forum for Yale students and selected participants from other universities to present, discuss, and defend their original research in a scholarly and collegial environment. The opportunity to present current work and engage in critical discussion – both in the context of formal question-and-answer sessions following each panel, as well as in further outside discussion with peers and faculty – sharpens presentational skills and tests intellectual flexibility, both essential to the professional development of graduate students.

Students are allowed a glimpse into the research of their peers, both within the department and within the larger national graduate student community – a community that will develop into the next generation of French literature scholars.

This conference is intended as an invitation to all graduate students pursuing high-level research in French and Francophone literature. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us at: yalefrenchgradconference2014@gmail.com
