Max Salata is a Ph.D. student in the Department of French. He works on medieval and early modern France, with particular emphasis on the relationship between literature and the visual arts.
Prior to joining the Graduate Program at Yale, Max received his B.A. in French from Yale College and his M.A. in French from Columbia University. He has presented his research at graduate and professional society conferences. Most recently, he was awarded a prize for best paper and presentation at the 2025 Vagantes Conference on Medieval Studies, where he presented on his M.A. thesis.
