New chair for the Department of Fench

To the Faculty, Staff, and Graduate Students in the Department of French,   It gives me great pleasure to announce the appointment of Professor Pierre Saint-Amand as chair of French, pending formal approval by the Yale Corporation. His term will be for three years, effective July 1, 2020. I am most grateful to Professor Saint-Amand for taking on this important leadership position.   I also wish to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to outgoing chair Alice Kaplan for her outstanding departmental leadership.
