Tom Connolly’s new book: A Poetic Genealogy of North African Literature

October 18, 2024
We are delighted to announce the upcoming release of Tom Connolly’s A Poetic Genealogy of North African Literature, published by Northwestern University Press.
Inspired by Abdelkébir Khatibi’s idea of poetry as a transformative encounter, Connolly engages the works of Khatibi, Jean Amrouche, Tahar Djaout, Nabile Farès, Mohammed Khaïr-Eddine, Abdelwahab Meddeb, Jean Sénac, and Arthur Rimbaud. By embracing poetic texts on their own terms, the book reimagines the origins and legacy of Maghrebi literature in French, expanding our understanding of its past, present, and future.
Please join us in congratulating Tom!
