New book by Marlene L. Daut and Kaiama L. Glover

We are thrilled to announce the publication of A History of Haitian Literature, edited by Marlene L. Daut and Kaiama L. Glover and published in November 2024 by Cambridge University Press.

This new work explores Haiti’s literary tradition from its pre-revolutionary origins to modern works in Creole, French, and English. It highlights how Haitian writers, both local and diasporic, address global and national themes, featuring figures like Baron de Vastey, Chanlatte, and Danticat, and underscores the richness and resilience of Haiti’s transnational literary heritage.
