Alice Yang
Alice holds a B.A. in Literature and Comparative Cultures from Yale and an M.A. in Lettres modernes from the École normale supérieure de Lyon. She is broadly interested in poetry, poetics, and translation, with a focus on the role of form and sound in the creation, reception, and translation of poetry.
Before returning to Yale, Alice worked as an English teaching assistant in the Académie de Lyon and as a lectrice d’anglais at the Université de Lyon 3 Jean Moulin.
Alice is also a literary translator. Her first book of translations, Abounding Freedom by Julien Gracq, was published by World Poetry Books in May 2024.
